NICOLA SIMBARI
The Story of Nicola Simbari is now legendary. Born in San Lucido, a small village in the south of Italy, he was raised in Rome where his father, an architect, worked for the Vatican. Young Sibari was influenced by the Sistine Chapel and other art treasures of the city. Nicloa Simbari showed his paintings for the first time in Rome in 1953. 1956 London and in 1959, New York became a pivotal point to his painting career. Two major solo New York shows, Crazy Horse Saloon and Le Cirque in 1976-77, catapulted Simbari to the top of the international art world. He also went thorough a period of graphics and a series of monumental steel sculptures. In1981, he highlighted a brilliant finale in Paris, German, Japan, Monaco and New York featuring thirteen cityscapes of Manhattan.
